Two More Small Fish In an Ever-expanding School In an Ever-shrinking Sea

News from the publisher front. Abercrombie Zombie will be loosed by Dreamspinner on August 10.  (Seems like forever since I've had a release, but that's probably because Visible Friend ended up more or less . . . invisible.) Anne Cain is once again the cover artist, and I hope to get my first look at what she's come up with by this weekend.

DSP has also accepted The Zero Knot (that's the contemporary from which I posted this excerpt) and scheduled it for publication in September or October.  This novel could be issued in print as well as e-book format, although I'm not sure of that yet. As the story stands, it's several thousand words shy of the 60k-word minimum. Don't know if I'll be asked to expand it or not.

My WIP, A Hole in God's Pocket, could also end up being novel-length. Too early to tell with any certainty, though.

Good news! :)

I'm getting to it! It's going to be my V book for the A-Z Challenge but as I'm only on O at the moment, you'll have to wait :).

Congrats on the rest! Looking forward to the new release next month.

Congratulations!! The pond is getting bigger with more fish but I think there are more boats and fisher ... people, as well. Looking forward to them.

Got to admit, acceptance does beat rejection, Chris. :)

Did I manage to hit your guilt button, Jen? :-D Honestly, I didn't mean to. It's simply part of the drill that Shiny New Books or Much Hyped and Anticipated Books invariably push others aside. Nearly all writers have to live with that reality. (Hell, I've taken plenty of detours from my own TBR pile.)

But here's the real kicker. I read in Kim Dare's bio today (at the end of her Hot Summer Days story) that she's produced over thirty books in under three years. That's ten or more titles a year! Holy jamoly, now I must face the fact I'm not just invisible, I'm a slouch, too! :) :) :)

Thanks, Tam. Dang, you're such an optimist.

I get the impression the fish population is growing exponentially but the fisher people breed slower than Canadians. Heh-heh.

Congrats on the upcoming releases. I'm looking forward to them.

And as for VF, I loved it. :)

Erm. That bio for Kim is out of date. Her book, Sealing the Deal (contest through tonight), is her 50th book. O.O

Thank you, Lily! <3

Chris...wait...either you didn't type that right or my eyes are going buggy.

She started writing in 2008 and has 50 EFFING BOOKS OUT?

F-f-f-five times ten?

Oops. When the stutter of incredulity hits, it's time for me to go.

Chris said...

Um. Does it help that she's only written one novel-length book?

K. Z. Snow said...

But even f-f-f-fifty novellas in three years is... (I'm sorry. Words fail me.)

Chris said...

There, there, KZ. It'll be ok.

Man. Maybe she has bionic fingers. Yeah, that's what it is. I'm sure of it.

Phrew, now I feel better.
