News (no rants) ~ Amended Version

Loose Id will be issuing Mobry's Dick in a print edition. O_O. Am shocked. It should be out in three to four months. (This will be my first m/m title in print--because, you know, I'm the novella queen. *g*)

And, OMG, and I already have a cover flat! I didn't even know it until I opened the zipped cover-art file. And if you have bionic eyes, you'll see there's a quote on the bottom from "Well Read Book Reviews" (that be you, Jen!)

Another of my m/m titles that breaks from novella length is Mongrel, the steampunk book. Dreamspinner sent me a contract last Friday. They're fast! Mongrel is scheduled to be released in December.

My WIP, precious_boy, is nearing completion. Don't yet know where I'll sub it.

Just a reminder that Electric Melty Tingles is coming September 28 from Loose Id. Sorry I still don't have a cover to show you.

Big congrats, KZ! I'll keep a watch for those release dates.

Ooohh. Congratulations. A "real" book. ;-) Now we can all get signed copies when we meet you. That's terrific and good luck with all the others you have coming up and out. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, everybody. Been feeling kind of down lately, so any better-than-bad news is welcome.

Congrats on all your success, sugar britches!

Sugar britches? Gawd, that's eerily close to my ex-husband's terms of endearment. You didn't move to Florida, did you?

Wrenboo, what the hell have you been up to? Aside from cultivating your aura of mystery, I mean. You're starting to remind me of Greta Garbo...dahling. ;-)

wren boudreau said...

Oh. Sorry. I might have been doing some ex channeling there. It just popped out!

I've been busy having hormone attacks and summer vacation and low biorhythms and writing a book and cultivating my new mantle of mystery.

Maybe I was Garbo in another life?

Congrats all around!

What? No ranting? Are you feeling well, my dear?

Seriously, congrats on everything. I'm really looking forward to EMT. Are you going to post an extract soon? or have you already done that and I missed it somehow?

Wow, Wren, what an enchanting life! I'm envious.

When you finish your book, maybe we can become power-pimpage partners and propel ourselves to the top of the pile! (I feel very alliterative today.) Oh, wait; I suppose that wouldn't work until one of us lifts herself from obscurity. ;-)

K. Z. Snow said...

Thanks, Lily. How've you been doing? I haven't been out much lately.

wren boudreau said...

KZ, I'm just gonna ride on your coattails! You are definitely not in the obscure pile, not if you're going to print, and I think Fugly may have sent you to the top! (I saw that interchange on Goodreads - how cool was that?)

K. Z. Snow said...

Now Jen, you know I don't rant nearly as much as someKrispeople. And what good is a blog if it can't occasionally serve as a pressure release valve? :D

I don't think I've put up an excerpt from EMT since I posted a sample in April, so I'll do that in the near future.

I've been alright, KZ. Thanks for asking. I've got some cookies, maybe even a wet one like you like, if you want to get out and wander. :)

K. Z. Snow said...

Crap, Wren, I was hoping to hitch a ride on your back!

;-)

The responses to Fugly have been both humbling (the sweet ones) and humiliating (the sour ones). Not much in between, which is kind of the way it went with Jude in Chains. My polarization of readers continues. Strange phenomenon, that.

So Fugly was hardly some universally acclaimed "breakthrough" book, and I've learned from experience that having stuff in print doesn't mean squat. I'm still on the lower rungs and struggling up the ladder along with scores of other writers. As we know, that's the way the biz (usually) goes.

K. Z. Snow said...

I must drop by, Lily. Dunked cookies please me. ;-)

wren boudreau said...

Well, okay then. Let the power pimpage partnership progress, and push on to the peak of popularity.

Or margaritas. I'm easy!

K. Z. Snow said...

I'm even easier. I'll settle for a beer. Although a bag of smoked almonds would be nice.

wren boudreau said...

KZ, I don't do beer or smoked almonds. *sigh* I will drink those goofy bottled "malt beverage" mojitos, though. And carmel-and-cheese popcorn.

Jenre said...

Wow, I seem to have reached the dizzy heights of reviewing fame - a quote on a book cover :). How exciting!

K. Z. Snow said...

Indeed you have, Jen! Now you owe your first born to Loose Id.

At least you're easier to please than Ms. Wren I-Must-Have-Mojitos- and-Carmel-Cheese-Popcorn Boudreau.

wren boudreau said...

yanno....I am just as happy with Coke Zero or one of those Sobe drinks, along with a roast beef sandwich on a whole wheat bun with horseradish.

Kris said...

Wow, KZ. You're having a terrific year. Go you. :)

K. Z. Snow said...

It's been decent, Kris. Ain't making me rich, but I'm happy if people like the books.
